Ski touring in the Tauferer Ahrntal is something special: you move among majestic 3,000-metre peaks. The upper Ahrntal with the quaint hamlet of Kasern in particular offers reliable snow, and from here you can reach summits of almost 3,500 metres.
In midwinter, the Weissenbach valley and the valley around Mühlwald guarantee enjoyable tours, with views reaching the high border peaks of the Zillertal Alps and the Rieserferner group.
