About me
My job is my passion
Welcome
Great to have you here
In 2004 I quite literally hung up my carpenter’s tools to take on the adventure of becoming a mountain and ski guide. The first years weren’t easy, but today I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
I keep catching myself telling guests, friends and family about the adventures I’ve had as a mountain lover and as a guide. To me that’s a sign the passion still burns – and is ready to be passed on with joy.
I’d be delighted to help you climb your dream mountain, tick off your dream route – or surprise your loved ones with a personal gift voucher.
Yours, Simon – with Marta, David and little Lucia

My path to the mountains
I was born on 29 October 1979 in Bruneck, the first child of the cook Elisabeth Kehrer and the mountain guide Stefan Kehrer. I grew up in the hamlet of Costamesana in Enneberg – where I still live today with my wife Marta, enjoying the view of the Fanes and Puez groups every day.
Thanks to my father, I first touched rock at the age of five. In 1986 I lost him in a tragic avalanche accident and only rediscovered the mountains at 14. From then on, every free minute, day and night, drew me into the mountains – at home and abroad.
After passing the mountain guide exam in 2004 I turned my passion into my profession: I gave up carpentry and have worked solely as a guide ever since. Since 2009 I have also been part of the training team for South Tyrol’s mountain guides.
My favourite activities change with the seasons: in summer, climbing with friends and guests – free solo, too – in the Dolomites and around the world. In winter, ski touring, freeriding, steep descents of couloirs and north faces, and climbing frozen waterfalls. Above all, I love new routes and first ascents – in classic style whenever possible.

I enjoyed most of these routes in the evening after work – simply to make the most of the day.Simon Kehrer

Free Solo
Solo ascents
My free-solo ascents are very special experiences for me – whether they make sense or not, I find hard to explain myself. The most important: Solleder (Civetta), Monte Agner north ridge, 1st-2nd-3rd arête and Dimai (Tofana di Rozes), Via del Drago (Lagazuoi), Dimai and Olga (Cinque Torri), Dibona (Falzarego tower), Hruschka and Messner (Peitlerkofel), Messner and Borroni (Neunerspitze), Vinatzer on the 3rd Sella tower, Kamerun and Demetz (Cir), Tschernobil (Sas Dlacia) – and on ice Spada di Damocle, Lujanta and Solo per Pochi.

4000 m
Western Alps & great north faces
In the Alps I’ve climbed around 40 four-thousanders, such as Mont Blanc, the Grandes Jorasses via the Walker Spur, the Matterhorn, the Eiger north face, the north faces of the Droites and Courtes or the Monte Rosa east face with a ski descent – plus the classic north faces of the Ortler, Königspitze, Hochfeiler, Grossglockner and Hochgall.
