St. Vigil in Enneberg

Sas dai Tamersc – Samblana & Fluch der Kamine

My crag on the doorstep: a 15-minute approach, one of my own first ascents and spectacular chimneys.

This easily recognisable rock face is the nearest climbing wall around St. Vigil in Enneberg – only about 15 minutes by car. The rock isn’t the most compact everywhere, but several routes offer really beautiful stone.

I opened the route Samblana with Hubert Eisendle in March 2021 – after an enormous amount of cleaning it has become a truly original, enjoyable climb. Much harder is Fluch der Kamine (‘curse of the chimneys’): as the name suggests, you shouldn’t be allergic to chimneys, as the route leads through some spectacular ones. Grade VI should be in your repertoire.

Almost forgot: the wall is just a relaxed 15-minute walk from the car, and thanks to its low altitude it is often climbable soon after a cold front, when higher walls are still snowy.
